Fort Edmonton Park invites you to explore the diversity of First Nations and Métis peoples at the Indigenous Peoples Experience.

The award-winning exhibit explores the rich and beautiful cultures of First Nations and Métis Peoples while encouraging visitors to seek out the truths as lived by Indigenous Peoples in Treaty 6.

Admission includes full access to the immersive exhibits and storytelling spaces, where you can connect with the histories, cultures, and living traditions of the First Nations and Métis Peoples of this region.

Fort Edmonton Park is proud to formally partner with the Confederacy of Treaty Six First Nations and the Métis Nation of Alberta. In the spirit of reconciliation and in honour of their critical role in stewardship, storytelling and shaping Amiskwaciwâskahikan/Edmonton, free admission is extended to Indigenous Peoples.

Throughout the fall and winter season, we’re offering special feature workshops at the Indigenous Peoples Experience. These are opportunities to deepen your understanding of First Nations and Métis cultures through interactive and educational sessions.

Feature Workshops

September 27th, 2025

  • Sound Medicine & Meditation: (Mikwan Energy Works)
    • Date: September 27th, 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM
    • Host: June Palmer
    • What to Expect: Step into your healing journey guided by Indigenous wisdom, sound, and spirit. Reconnect with your true self through sacred medicine and intuitive insight.
      Let Mikwan guide you into a deep meditative state where you drift off on a journey to wellness through sound.
  • Ribbon Skirt Teachings
    • Date: September 27th, 1:00 -2:00 PM
    • Host: Veronica Mcrae (The Good Place)
    • What to Expect: To acknowledge National Truth and Reconciliation, visitors of the Fort Edmonton Park Indigenous Experience are welcome to join a 60-minute presentation and an interactive craft. Presented by the founder of The Good Place, Veronica McRae will share the healing power of the ribbon skirt with her own personal journey. Following this presentation, visitors will have an opportunity to create their own ribbon lapel pin in honour of September 30th.

September 28th, 2025

  • Inuit Teachings and Soapstone Carving
    • Date: September 28th, 10:30 AM -12:00 PM and 12:30 - 2:00 PM
    • Host: Tracy Alikamik
    • What to Expect: We welcome Tracy Alikamik and Brenda Egotak to Fort Edmonton Park as we learn about Inuit history and culture. You will get a chance to make your own soapstone carving and play traditional Inuit games. Come join us as we learn about Inuit customs, Sedna, the Inuit sea goddess and different inuksuk meanings.

Spaces will be limited; advanced booking is encouraged.

Corporate Bookings

The Indigenous Peoples Experience is ideal for corporate meetings, team building events, small social gatherings, and intimate office holiday parties. 

The basic package includes:

  • 3-hours of exclusive access to the Indigenous Peoples Experience venue
  • Activation with 2 interpreters

Are tickets available at the gate?
Tickets are not available at the Front Gate, please purchase online in advance. Please purchase tickets online here

How much are tickets?
Daily admissions tickets are as follows:

Adult (18+)                                 $20.00
Child/Youth (3-17)                       $12.00
Family (2 adults & up to 3 kids)    $50.00

Do I need a printed copy or can I show it on my smartphone?
Either is fine.

I have a membership, can that be used for admission?
Yes, your membership can be used to visit the Indigenous Peoples Experience until Dec. 29, 2025. 

I have a Leisure Access Pass, can I use it?
City of Edmonton Leisure Access Passes are accepted for free admission for the Fall and Winter Admission season. These are not applicable to private or ticketed events. 

I’m not feeling well. Can I get a refund?
Please stay home if you’re not feeling well. Tickets are non-refundable, however, you may switch your ticket to a different date. 

Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable.

How many people does a family admission cover? 
A family admission includes two adults and up to 3 children living in the same household.

What should I do if I have not received a booking confirmation email?

I want to bring a large group, are there discounts?
There are no group discounts available. Our sales team would be happy to assist with your group booking. They can be reached at sales@fortedmontonpark.ca

THE EXPERIENCE
Are the train and streetcars running?
No, the streetcar or the train are not running.

Will any buildings be open?
Only the Indigenous Peoples Experience will be open. Please note, the remaining buildings within Fort Edmonton Park are not open to the Public during your experience. 

GENERAL
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available in Parking Lot K, which is accessible via the service road. See map here. 

How do you get there?
Take Fox Drive to Fort Edmonton Park Road and follow the road into the Park. There are many city streets in the vicinity that have signs that direct to Fort Edmonton Park.

Can I get there by public transit?
We don't recommend using the Edmonton Transit System to visit the Indigenous Peoples Experience as you are not able to walk on the service road to get to the exhibit and the front entry gate will be closed.   

Is smoking allowed?
Fort Edmonton Park is smoke-free.

Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available across the site.
