Spooky Tuesdays at the Capitol

Edward Scissorhands at the Capitol

Throughout the month of October, join us for our Spooky Tuesdays series! 

Every Tuesday, a different Halloween classic movie will be shown at the Capitol Theatre. From Halloween classics to bone-chilling horror films, there's something for every ghoul and goblin. So gather your friends, find your seats, and get ready for a month of spooky movies!

Once upon a time, a kindly inventor created a charming young man named Edward. But the inventor died before he finished Edward, who had sharp metal shears for hands. Edward was sad and alone until a kind Avon lady invited him to live with her in the fantastical land of Suburbia.

Ghostbusters at the Capitol

After delving too deep into the mysterious metaphysical realm, three scientists and ambitious supernatural reserarchers find themselves out of work. The team comes up with Ghostbusters, a paranormal search-and-destroy service, bent on proving everyone wrong by catching New York City's rogue spirits. After stumbling upon a gateway to another dimension that will release evil upon the city, the Ghostbusters must now work to save New York City from complete destruction.

Beetlejuice at the Capitol

Adam and Barbrad Maitland are a normal couple... who happen to be dead. They find themselves stuck haunting their country residence, and a new unbearble family is moving in. Adam and Barbra try to scare them out, but end up becoming the main attraction to the money-making family. They call upon Beetlejuice to help, but Beetlejuice has more in mind than just helping.

Nightmare on Elm Street

Nancy and her friends suffer violent nightmares which all feature one common element, a disfigured serial killer with a glove made of razors on his right hand. When one of the group is murdered in their sleep, Nancy realizes that she must stay awake and try to uncover the truth behind this phantasmic killer Fred Krueger.

Event Information

No outside food or drink will be permitted inside. There will be a concession available on-site to purchase from before the movie and during intermission.

Parking is available behind the Capitol Theatre in Parking Lot G, please drive down the service road and check in with our Guardhouse upon arrival. There is no entry through the Front Entry Plaza.

TICKETS
Are tickets available at the gate?
Tickets are not available at the Front Gate as it is closed for the season. They must be pre-purchased online or are available for walk-ups at the Capitol Theatre Box Office.

Do I need a printed copy of my ticket or can I show it on my smartphone?
Either is fine.

Are tickets refundable?
Tickets are non-refundable. 

I have a Leisure Access Pass, can I use it?
City of Edmonton Leisure Access Passes is accepted for free admission during our summer season. These are not applicable for private or ticketed events.

I have a Fort Edmonton Park Membership, can I use it?
Fort Edmonton Park Memberships are accepted for our General Admission season and admission to the Indigenous Peoples Experience during the Fall and Winter. These are not applicable for private or ticketed events.

What happens if I'm running late?
Theater doors will close at the start of the movie. Tickets will not be refunded for any latecomers.

What should I do if I have yet to receive a booking confirmation email?
Please check your spam folder. If it’s not there, please send an email to info@fortedmontonpark.ca.

What types of payments do you take?
We are happy to accept Visa, Mastercard, and Interac. 

 

THE EXPERIENCE

What can I expect while watching a film at the Capitol Theatre?
Capitol Theatre is first come seating. There will be a concession with snacks and beverages available for purchase. Washrooms are also available on-site. 

Can I bring food and drinks with me?
No outside food or drink will be permitted. There will be a concession available on-site to purchase from.

 

GENERAL

Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available behind the Capitol Theatre

How do you get there?
Take Fox Drive to Fort Edmonton Park Road and follow the road into the Park. Take the first right upon arriving at the Park, following signs to the Capitol Theatre. You will check in at the Guardhouse and continue down the service road to park behind the Capitol Theatre. Note that the Front Gate will not be open.

Can I get there by public transit?
We don't recommend using the Edmonton Transit System as you are not able to walk on the service road to get to the meeting point. 

Is smoking allowed?
Fort Edmonton Park is smoke-free.

Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available across the site.
