Are tickets available at the gate?
Tickets are available at the front entry gates and online at fortedmontonpark.ca

Do I need a printed copy or can I show it on my smartphone?
Either is fine.

I’m not feeling well. Can I get a refund?
Please stay home if you’re not feeling well. Tickets are non-refundable, however, you may switch your ticket to a different date. 

Are washrooms open?
Yes, washrooms will be open and cleaned regularly.

I want to exchange my tickets for another day. How can I do this?

To inquire about an exchange request, please email info@fortedmontonpark.ca. 

I have a Leisure Access Pass, how do I book a time?
City of Edmonton Leisure Access Passes are accepted for free admission during our summer season. These are not applicable for private, ticketed events. No need to book online, customers just need to present their valid card and I.D. at the Box Office for admission. If you have any further questions, please connect with our customer service team at info@fortedmontonpark.ca.

How do Fort Edmonton Park Memberships work?
At the time of purchase, you will pay for the membership and receive a ticket with a QR Code.

Use this all year long to gain unlimited access to the Park during our General Admission Season (Wednesday to Sunday and holiday Mondays) from May 18, 2024 - September 15, 2024, Fall & Winter Indigenous Peoples Experience Admission (Weekend) and get exclusive year-round perks. 

I purchased a daily admission and enjoyed my visit so much that I want to upgrade it to a Fort Edmonton Park Membership. Can I apply the amount of my daily admission to a Fort Edmonton Park Membership?
You can upgrade your purchase at the end of your visit on the same day, or if you have already gone home you can reach out to info@fortedmontonpark.ca and we can assist you further. 

Are tickets refundable?
All daily admission tickets and Fort Edmonton Park Memberships are non-refundable.

Can I let family and friends use my Fort Edmonton Park Membership?
The memerbship is valid for those it was purchased for only and is non-transferable. Any abuse will result in the pass being forfeited.

Do I get any discounts with my Fort Edmonton Park Membership?

How many people does a family admission cover? 
A family admission includes two adults and up to 4 children living in the same household.

Does extended family count?
Only family members who live in the same household qualify for family tickets or passes.

What should I do if I have not received a booking confirmation email?
Please check your spam folder. If it’s not there, please send an email to info@fortedmontonpark.ca.

What types of payments do you take?
We are happy to accept Visa, Mastercard, Interac, and cash.

Do you sell gift cards?
We do not currently have gift cards available.

Are the train and streetcars running?
Yes, the train and streetcars are running this season.

Is Tom Thumb Mini Golf running?
Tom Thumb Mini Golf is open! Visit the newly revamped course on 1920 Street on your next visit. 

Are there wagon rides?
Yes, wagon rides are running. Tickets are $8 each. You can add them to your general admission ticket purchase online or purchase them at McDougall's on 1885 Street. 

Are there pony rides?
Yes, pony rides will be available. Pony rides are for guests 10 years of age and under and are $8 each. You can add them to your general admission ticket purchase online or purchase them at McDougall's on 1885 Street. 

Where can I eat?
We're delighted to offer delicious menu options throughout the Park! We also have all your favourite candies in our retail locations. 

Front Entry Cafe & Gift Shop

Can I bring my own food?
While we do have great menu options, we understand that some guests prefer to bring their own food. Picnic tables to enjoy your lunch at are located throughout the site. 

Where can I shop?
Gifts, souvenirs, and candy will be available at the Front Entry Gift Shop. Small toys and candy are available at the Treasure Trove on the Midway. Pioneer goods and candy too are available at McDougall's General Store. Hand-crafted items made by Indigenous artisans are available at the kiosk at the Indigenous Peoples Experience.

Are there animals in the Park?
Yes, there are a variety of animals that call Fort Edmonton Park home, including horses, ponies, donkeys, goats, pigs, sheep, chickens, and turkeys. 

Can I feed the animals?
The animals already have a healthy diet with an appropriate amount of food so we ask that guests do not feed them.

How long should I plan my visit to be?
Expect to spend at least 4 hours, however, there is enough to see and do to spend the whole day.

GENERAL

Is parking available?
Yes, limited parking is available in the main parking lot, and usually fills up by the afternoon. There is limited parking in our main lot and some extra parking in the lot near our Administration building (take your first right opposite the main lot and then a quick left). Please consider alternate modes of transportation.

How do you get there?
Take Fox Drive to Fort Edmonton Park Road and follow the road into the Park. There are many city streets in the vicinity that have signs that direct to Fort Edmonton Park.

Can I get there by public transit?
Yes, you can use the Edmonton Transit System On Demand service from the South Campus/Fort Edmonton Park LRT station or from another location in the city.

On Demand service is available to Fort Edmonton Park 7-days a week:

  • Monday to Friday: 6 am-10 pm
  • Saturday: 9 am-7 pm
  • Sundays and holidays: 10 am-6 pm

Is Fort Edmonton Park wheelchair accessible?
Fort Edmonton Park has partial accessibility with ramps and washrooms available at many locations throughout the Park. However, due to the historic nature of the facility, there are a number of buildings that would be challenging for persons with limited mobility and impassable for wheelchairs. The Park is situated on 158 acres and although period transportation is available, only the stream train is equipped for wheelchairs, and the physical demands of walking the site are considerable. The streetcar is not accessible for walkers or wheelchairs, we also do not allow strollers on the streetcar. 

Programs offered at the Park accommodate special needs wherever possible. Notification of any special needs requirements must be identified at the time of registration. One personal care attendant is admitted free of charge. 

Do you have accessible toilets?
Yes, there are several accessible locations in the Park. Please see map for specific locations. 

Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not allowed. For the health of our animals, we have a closed herd policy. Please do not leave pets in your vehicle. 

Can I bring my service dog?
Fort Edmonton Park welcomes persons with disabilities and their certified public access service dogs. Emotional support or comfort dogs and therapy dogs will not be granted access as they are not considered service dogs under Alberta’s Service Dogs Act and Regulations.

Is smoking allowed?
Fort Edmonton Park is smoke-free during general admission hours.

Do you have a coat check or lockers?
There are no coat checks or lockers available. 

Do you have a lost & found?
Yes, the lost and found is located at the front entry. Given the size of our site, lost items often get returned at the end of the day and are available for pick-up on the next opening day. See our online Lost & Found and claim your item today.

Do you rent strollers?

Stroller rentals are not available.

Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, Wi-Fi is available across the site.

Is there a place where I can charge my phone?
Phone charging stations are not available.

Are there photo opportunities?
There are many Instagram-worthy spots throughout the Park.

Can I bring a camera?
Absolutely and don’t forget to tag us and use hashtag #FortEdPark when you share your photos on social media.

Train Safety
We want to ensure you all have a fantastic and safe visit today. This is a friendly reminder that all teachers and other adult guardians are responsible for students while at the Park.

Please stick to the trails, sideways, and pathways. Only cross tracks at designated crossings. Railway lines are private property, and walking on them constitutes trespassing and is not safe. The only safe, legal place to cross a rail line is at a marked grade crossing.
