Fort Edmonton Park

Fort Edmonton Park is a historically-themed attraction offering authentic, immersive, memorable and fun experiences to a broad range of audiences. The Park is open to the public from the May long-weekend to the end of September as well as for a variety of holidays and special occasions. Fort Edmonton Park is also open to private parties throughout the year.

Key to the Park’s operations is its living-history museum component, which includes numerous historic buildings and artifacts (including a detailed reconstruction of the Hudson Bay Trading Fort circa 1846). The museum is animated in the summer through the talents and expertise of costumed interpreters and volunteers. Amenities and attractions at the Park include: period transportation (including a 1905 steam locomotive, street cars and horse-drawn rides), an on-site full service boutique hotel, a 1920’s Midway (including a Ferris Wheel, Carousel, Fun House, Chair-o-Planes and games of skill and chance) and a state of the art 4-D theatre, in the guise of a splendiferous 1920s vaudeville stage.

The Park is operated by the Fort Edmonton Management Company on behalf of the City of Edmonton.

The entrance to Fort Edmonton Park is located at the intersection of Fox Drive and Whitemud Drive. The Park is just 15 minutes from downtown Edmonton and 10 minutes from the world famous West Edmonton Mall.

Fort Edmonton Park first opened in May of 1974 and has grown to become home to more than 80 historical buildings set in four distinct eras of Edmonton’s history.
