Journey of a Lifetime

Journey of a Lifetime National Tour

Pulls into Fort Edmonton Park’s Capitol Theatre for three shows this November.

An important piece of Canadian history is coming to life November 15, 16 & 17, Journey of a Lifetime, Presented by BMO Financial Group shares the stories of the people, places and journey involved in the largest wave of immigration in Canadian history.

The railway united Canada as a nation and no other rail car did more to settle the west than the Colonist Car. During the first half of the 20th century, millions of immigrants travelled across the country aboard these wooden cars to begin a new life on the western prairies.

Journey of a Lifetime is a live theatre presentation and an interactive exhibit that evokes the Colonist Car experience and re-creates this incredible period of Canadian history. The family-friendly performance, written by Alberta playwright, Winn Bray, and produced by Heritage Park Historical Village in Calgary, Alberta in collaboration with Quest Theatre Society, is the story of a few of those courageous and hopeful immigrants who arrived through Eastern ports in 1910 and crossed Canada by Colonist train. Travel along with characters Yosyp Lebedovich, the Cousineau family and Nellie Cole as they face the challenges and rewards of following a dream.
