Never been to the Park? Been here but always had a feeling there was something more? Allow our trained and informative guides to take you on a time-travelling journey through Edmonton’s history. You’ll hear some of Edmonton’s secrets and little-known stories that together helped form the River City’s unique character. You’ll range all over our 64 hectare (158 acre) site, explore some of our 80+ historical structures, and meet costumed interpreters representing Edmonton’s colourful residents, from 1846 to 1929. There’s never been a simpler way to make Edmonton’s story yours!

Hear some of Edmonton’s lesser known stories and facts that together helped form Edmonton’s unique character. Situated on 64 hectares (158 acres) of land, you will see some of our 80 plus original and reconstructed historical structures representing the history of Edmonton from 1846 to 1929.

Our Attraction

Fort Edmonton Park is the largest living history museum in Canada. Experience life as it was through four historical periods between 1846 and 1929. Go back in time more than 150 years and walk through the days of the fur trade, and the pioneer years of 1885, 1905 and 1920. Costumed interpreters bring the past to life, answer your questions and invite you to experience the best of the period. , play pioneer games, bake bread the old-fashioned way, shop ’til you drop, or hit the Midway for rides games and more fun “ it’s all right here waiting for you.
