Summer Youth Group Programs

PIONEER LIFE FOR ME (Ages 6-17)

Live the life of  a pioneer! Make candy, build a simple toy, play pioneer field games and go on a scavenger hunt. Before or after your program, enjoy the park on your own.

THE PARK FOR PRE-SCHOOLERS (Ages 4“6)

Do the Park the pre-school way! Spend time with an interpreter who will take you to visit the Ottewell farm to see some farm animals. Look inside a farm kitchen from the olden days, try some toys that children used to play with a long time ago and make homemade juice and candy. Before or after your program, enjoy the park on your own.

A VOYAGEUR LIFE FOR ME (Ages 7-17)

Children didn’t have to go to school back then? Boys became men at 14 years? They didn’t take a bath all winter? You’ll visit the trading post, homes of the labourers and the mansion of the big man in charge! You’ll see our costumed interpreters living the life of the fur trader. Take part in some hands-on fur trading activities too. Before or after your program, enjoy the park on your own.

Fall, Winter and Spring Group Programs

LIVING HISTORY AT FORT EDMONTON PARK (Ages 5 & Up)

Make your field trip go down in history with some hands-on fun. Two fabulous locations to choose from!

Pioneers – choose from 4 activities from the following list: candle dipping, clay marbles, lantern tour of 1885 Street, Thaumatropes, cinnamon buns, cookies, hands on artifacts, scones and butter, and wool carding.

Fur Traders – make bannock, try some beading, write with pen and ink, and take a short tour of the Fort.
