Fearless front-woman Derina Harvey leads this Alberta-based five-piece Celtic-rock act, who offer an authentic east-coast experience with a fresh take on traditional tunes as well as their own original jigs and reels. Their rocky, rhythmic undertow is layered with guitars, fiddle, and topped by Derina’s powerful voice. These transplanted east-coasters have earned a reputation with their high-energy live show, leaving many an audience out-of-breath and hollering from their seats!
The Capitol Theatre sells a number of refreshments you can enjoy inside the theatre during the concert, such as domestic and imported beer, wine, hi balls, and pop/juice/bottled water.
About the Band
2016 saw the the group expand their touring footprint and successfully land showcase spots across Western Canada. The band logged over 60 performances in 2016, beginning the year with several shows on the performing arts circuit, including a sold out crowd at Horizon Stage (Spruce Grove, Alberta) last January. This would be the first of many successful shows on the performing arts circuit (bookings that were a result of the band’s appearance at Alberta Showcase in 2015). The group added tour dates in all provinces of Western Canada, while also making a trip to Newfoundland in July for several shows, including the George Street Canada Day Festival. While continuing to add to their resume with appearances at venerable festivals such as North Country Fair, the past year also afforded the band several showcases: OSAC Showcase (Saskatchewan), Manitoba Showcase, and Pacific Contact (where Derina did a “Short 5” solo spot). The band received dozens of bookings as a direct result of these appearances.
The band’s second album, “Rove and Go”, was released in May, 2016. An independent radio campaign saw the album added at over 30 stations and tracking at #65 on CKUA’s top-played albums for 2016. Finally, the band was nominated for an Edmonton Music Award in 2016 in the “Artist to Watch” category.
