Strollers on the Train & Streetcar

Train

Our train is able to accommodate some strollers. However some recreational or tandem strollers do not fit on board. Strollers cannot exceed a maximum 20inches wide by 48inches long (57cm wide by 122 cm long). Strollers must be lightweight and foldable. Wagons cannot be accommodated on the train.

Streetcars

As a safety policy, we are no longer able to accommodate strollers, walkers, wheelchairs or wagons on our street cars.

For your convenience we do offer a stroller holding area at the train station. Your stroller can be left for a round trip on either ride. Please be aware that Fort Edmonton Park is not liable for lost or stolen strollers or items.

Bicycles and Balloons

There are no bicycles of any size allowed inside Fort Edmonton Park.  Similarly, no balloons are permitted within the Park or any of the Park's buildings.

Amusements

Test your shooting skills in the Shooting Gallery, play a game of Tom Thumb Miniature Golf or experience the excitement or a real 1920's-style Midway.

  • Shooting Gallery - Test your shooting skill and accuracy in this turn of the century shooting gallery. Listen to the player piano, and try out the historical arcade machines.
  • Tom Thumb Miniature Golf - All the rage in the 1920s, miniature golf is challenging and relaxing. Play a game with the whole family or get in a quick nine on your own.
  • Midway & Exhibition - Ride the beautiful hand-carved horses on the carousel, soar to the heavens on the Ferris wheel, and test yourself with games of skill. Experience the excitement of a real 1920s-style Midway. Tickets for all of the amusements can be purchased at the admissions centre or at on-site stores.

Transportation

Take a ride into the past on the Edmonton, Yukon and Pacific Railway, original streetcars, buggy rides, wagon rides, stagecoach or pony rides.

Edmonton, Yukon & Pacific Railway
Your admission includes unlimited rides on our 1919 Baldwin Steam Train, which will take you from the train station to our 1846 Hudson's Bay Fort and return if you wish.  Go to www.friendsofengine107.com to see photos or watch a video and learn more about this authentic 92 year-old steam engine, which has been at Fort Edmonton Park since 1977.  Free of charge.

Railway Caboose
The caboose is wheelchair accessible. The train conductor can assist with boarding. Free for wheelchair patrons.

Streetcar
Your admission includes rides on the streetcars, which ride the rails to 1905 and 1920 streets. The Edmonton Radial Railway Society restores and maintains all of the Park's streetcars. Free of charge.

Buggy Rides
Before the car, a buggy was the smartest way to go. Buggy rides are available on 1905 Street on Sundays and holidays.

Wagon Rides
The rides start at McDougall's general store on 1885 Street. This quiet, scenic loop past the pond and the Fort takes about 10 minutes.

Stagecoach
Until 1891, the stagecoach was the only commercial mans of transportation between Calgary and Edmonton. In 1885, the trip could last five days, but our own stagecoach takes about 10 minutes to travel through history on 1885 Street.

Pony Rides
Check in at the Ottewell homestead farm yard. Ponies are for children who want to experience a little of the pioneer west.
