History lessons like no other

Interested in learning more about Edmonton’s history? Do you have a historical home that you want to learn more about? How about historical fashions, carpentry or trains? Fort Edmonton Park hosts a number of workshops and courses that will introduce you to history with new ideas and creative projects throughout the year. 


Children's Courses

Please let the registration clerk know of any allergies, particularly to nuts and dairy products, when registering your child for any program.

Mrs. Egge’s Kitchen (Ages 3 – 5) $20

Mrs. Egge is inviting you to come down and help her in her kitchen. We’ll make a delightful smorgasbord of treats to eat. Scones and butter, ice cream and fresh lemonade - we’ll have a busy morning! While our treats finish baking, we’ll make a puppet and try dressing up in some old-fashioned clothes. Adult attendance is optional, but unregistered children cannot be accommodated.

Christmas Cooking for Kids (Ages 6 – 11) $22

Prepare some traditional Christmas treats to take home. Each child will create a small tin of truffles, cookies, mints, fudge, and other delights. Discover more about Christmas preparations of the past. Go on a tour of the streets to see the shop windows decorated for the festive season. Adult attendance is optional, but unregistered children cannot be accommodated.

Withdrawals and Transfers as of May 1, 2010

Withdrawals and transfers are permitted without penalty up to 15 days prior to the program start date.

A $10 administration fee will apply if a withdrawal or transfer is requested 15 days or less prior to the program start date. If the program has started, a $10 administration fee will apply, and a prorated balance of the program fee will be refunded.



Multi-Facility Course
This 6 week adventure will tour 6 different City of Edmonton facilities.
