Summer Programs

 May 19 - August 31, 2012

Fur Trade Fort Tour (Ages 7 – 17)
Children didn’t have to go to school back then? Boys became men at 14 years? They didn’t take a bath all winter?

Summertime Fun (Ages 6 – 17)
Choose a fur trade or pioneer theme that is full of active historic fun!

Self Guided Visits (5 – 17 years)
Historical interpreters dressed in period costumes re-enact the lifestyles of an earlier Edmonton - the train and streetcar carry passengers through Fort Edmonton Park, merchants are busy in their shops, and some characters are busy doing household chores. Children can actively experience life from a bygone era..

Park for Preschoolers (Ages 4-6)
Do the Park the pre-school way! Spend 1.5 hours with an interpreter who will take you to visit the Ottewell farm to see some farm animals. Look inside a farm kitchen from the olden days, try some toys that children used to play with a long time ago, and make homemade juice and ice cream.
