Parking and Arrival Procedures

Arrival in the On-Season
After May 19th, you will not be allowed to drive on-site for any reason between 9:45 am and 6:15 pm. An interpreter will meet you at the front gate of the Train Station at your party's start time unless otherwise decided upon when they contact you prior to your party. Please inform your interpreter if you have many items to carry into the Park or if you intend to take the train or streetcar to your party location.

Arrival in the off season or after Public Hours:
For programs during these times your group can be dropped off on site inside the park. The off season includes October through to the Victoria Day Long Weekend in May. For your convenience, share these instructions with any parents dropping children off. It will save your group much confusion when driving through the Park to reach the starting point.

Once you have gone under the Quesnell Bridge:
Continue straight ahead. Do not turn on to the main public parking lot. Take the FIRST RIGHT, at the sign that says: Fort Edmonton Park, Administration, Special Functions. Continue along this road, straight through the gate along the service road.

If the gate is closed dial 23# or 25# into the keypad to the left of the gate. This will connect you to someone that will open the gate. If you have problems please call 780-496-8782. Follow the service road to the second stop sign at the Hotel Selkirk. Turn left.

From this point follow directions below for your specific location.

Mellon Farm:
*Once you have turned left off of the service road at the Hotel Selkirk.*

Turn left in front of the Hotel Selkirk, drive past the Capitol Theatre. Continue down the road, past the large field and airplane hangar, Mellon farm is a white house with a brown barn on the left hand side. It is across the street from the Mosque.

Henderson Farm:
*Once you have turned left off of the service road at the Hotel Selkirk.* Continue straight, past the Fire Hall. Between Reed's Tea Room and St. Anthony's Church (white church with big, black bell) there is a small field where you can park your car. From this point walk down the street, past St. Anthony's Church, Henderson House is on the left hand side at the very end of the street.

The birthday parents can drive up to the house to unload any supplies but must park in the designated space for the duration of the party.

Egge's Stopping House:
*Once you have turned left off of the service road at the Hotel Selkirk.*

Continue straight, past St. Anthony's Church (white church with big, black bell). At the end of the street turn right and immediately turn left. This road will bring you up to Egge's Stopping House. If more parking space is needed, please continue down this road, over a small bridge and into the large dirt parking lot outside the Fort complex.

Your interpretive guide(s) will meet you at the party location. The interpretive guide(s) will be waiting for you at least 15 minutes before your program begins. If s/he is not there, please wait a few minutes because s/he may be attending to a fire for your program (particularly if you have arrived later than expected.)

If your guide has not met you by the time your program starts, or within 5 minutes of your late arrival, please report an absent guide to administration upstairs in the Train Station at the entrance to the Park. If you are carrying a cell phone, call: (780) 496-8782 or (780) 496-7381.

Early Access to Site
