Fort Edmonton Foundation
Since 1969, the Fort Edmonton Foundation has been the sole
fundraising entity associated with Fort Edmonton Park.
Fort Edmonton Park is an exemplary citizens' project: driven by
volunteerism and supported by donor dollars.
Many of Fort Edmonton Park's guests are not aware that Fort
Edmonton Park has been built with contributions from individuals,
small businesses and local corporations. The Foundation exists to
reach out to the larger community in support of projects being
developed, or to be developed, in Fort Edmonton Park.
Because it derives revenue not only from donations, but from
activities such as payroll services for certain park employees, and
collects revenue for lease of the train, the Foundation can
honestly state that it spends only $.15 of every donated dollar on
administrative costs. If, at the end of the year, not all of the
administrative levy is used, the remainder goes back into project
reconstruction rather than being carried over into the next year's
administrative funds.

Donor Recognition
All donors who have given a cumulative total of $2,000 or more
to the Foundation are recognized on the Fort Edmonton Donor Wall at
the Partners Gate at the entrance to Fort Edmonton Park.
Donors who contribute to a specific capital project, or recognition opportunity,
receive the recognition specific to that project or opportunity;
and, if that amount is over $2,000, they will also be recognized
with a plaque on the donor wall.
Since 1969, the Foundation's fund raising efforts have generated
over $20 million for the creation and growth of Fort Edmonton
Park.
